About Jill

Jill Schafer is the one the media calls for an expert opinion on the Denver real estate market. She is the most quoted Realtor (R) in town. You may have seen or heard her comments in the Denver Post, The Denver Business Journal, 5280 Magazine, Forbes, Colorado Public Radio, ABC 7, 9 NEWS, CBSN-Denver, Fox 31, Colorado Public Radio, CNBC, The London Financial Times, and even China T.V. Since 2014, she has served on, and now chairs, the Denver Metro Association of REALTORS® (DMAR) Market Trends Committee that puts out a monthly report on the statistics and trends for the 11-county metro area and is considered the 'Voice of Real Estate’.

Even after 26 years in Denver, Jill is still proud of her small-town North Dakota roots. She says when you grow up where everyone knows you and watches out and cares for you, you carry that forward to how you treat others. Jill is widely respected for treating her clients like family and being very protective of their real estate investments. She’s always on the look-out for up and coming areas that will give her clients the best return and has extensive knowledge of Denver, the southern suburbs, the in-fill new construction market, and investment properties. She has a tireless work ethic and is known for her tough negotiating skills.

Jill graduated from The University of Minnesota-Moorhead with degrees in Speech Communications and Mass Communications and used what she learned in several careers. She was formerly a TV news reporter and anchor of the nightly news, the vice president of a restaurant chain, and owned a home-based business selling baby blankets to Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, and high-end boutiques across the country. Many things she learned in her previous careers, such as research, marketing, and negotiations, add to the expertise she brings to her real estate clients today.

Once her two sons were both in school full-time, Jill decided to explore her true passion, real estate. She has an affinity for new construction custom homes and remodeling which started when she was very small studying floor plans at the dining room table alongside her homebuilder father. As a life-long learner, Jill holds Certified Negotiation Expert and Relocation Specialist titles. She is a multi-year winner of the Denver Metro Association Realtor’s (DMAR) Excellence Award and a multi-year winner of 5280 Magazine’s 5 Star Real Estate Award. Less than 3% of Denver Metro agents have received the 5 Star Award as many times as she has. She is so appreciative that her past clients nominate her year after year for providing the highest level of overall customer satisfaction.

Jill was adopted and spent a short time in foster care as an infant. As a thank you for those who took care of her, Jill advocates on behalf of kids in the foster care system in Denver. She volunteers as a Court-Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) attending court hearings, school meetings and more to represent children in the system who have been abused and neglected. She also served on the American Diabetes Association board, to help the efforts to find a cure and to serve people, like her son, who was diagnosed with this chronic disease at the age of 10.

Now in their 20’s, Jill's two sons attended private, public, and a charter school in Littleton which means she is an expert at navigating Colorado’s Public School Choice Program. Both boys attended universities in Colorado as well and Jill and her husband, Tom,  feel lucky that they have chosen to stay in the Denver area.

Jill loves combing through antique shops & estate sales, watching movies, exploring Denver neighborhoods, and spending time with her cherished rescue dogs, Saint Bernard, Millie, and Newfoundland, Bear. But when asked how she spends her free time, she usually replies, “What free time? I work. It’s what I love to do.
